How can I set up an account as a tutor?
You can either go to the home page, or simply click here to set up an account as a tutor.
What information is made public?
When you have a free account : All of your information, except for your contact info (last name, address, email and phone number) is available to visitors.
When you have a PRO account : All of your information, except for your address and last name, is available to visitors.
Your address is not made available to other users. The address you give us when signing up for an account is only used by the search tool in order to locate you on the map.
How do I communicate with students?
Students who are interested in your services will either contact you by email or by phone (if you have a PRO account). Obviously, it is important to respond to emails and return phone calls from potential students, as this indicates that you are both responsible and professional. It should also go without saying that you should speak politely and courteously when communicating with students and their parents. It is in your best interest to give a good impression. Maintaining good relationships with students and parents helps ensure that they provide you with positive feedback on your profile. This in turn makes your profile more interesting to future students.
How does the online payment system work?
In order to use the online payment system on Acadam.com, click on the “My Invoices” button found at the top of the page when you are signed in on your tutor account. This will take you to a page where you can create and manage invoices for each of your students. From their student accounts, your students will have access to the invoices that you send them. The payments themselves are made through PayPal. You will therefore need to create a PayPal account if you don’t already have one. Once you have a PayPal account, you can link it to your tutor profile and use it to receive payments from your students.
How do I make my profile more attractive?
The more detailed your profile, the better. As a result, the first thing you want to do if you want to make your profile more attractive is to take the time to fill in all of the information asked for. If you can add a photo, students will be reassured that they are dealing with a real human being. A short description of yourself also helps personalize your profile and gives students an idea of your strengths and skills. You should also ask your friends and colleagues to leave reviews on your profile. This is just another way to show that you are serious about tutoring. Finally, the best way to make your profile more attractive to students is to take advantage of our certification service, such as the criminal record check.
How can students comment on my services?
All students will be able to post comments and evaluate your services on your profile. As these comments will be visible to other students, it is in your interest to provide a high quality service that leads students to post positive comments on your profile. Receiving three or more positive comments will earn you the label “Trusted Tutor”. Having this label on your profile is sure you increase your chances of being contacted for your services.
How can I become a “Trusted Tutor”?
In order to be named a “Trusted Tutor” you must receive at least three positive evaluations from students, have billed 25 hours of tutoring using our online payment system, and have completed the criminal record check and reference check. Being named “Trusted Tutor” is another way to gain credibility on the site, in addition to the other services offered by Acadam.com.
