Acadam is a meeting place for students and tutors. Acadam provides a matching service and a platform to handle all monetary transactions between tutors and students.
There are two ways to find a tutor on Acadam :
Create a request
From the homepage, you can create a request that describes your needs. This will be sent to tutors that could help you. You will then receive responses from interested tutors by email.Search our site
You can search our site to find your tutor by clicking on Find a tutor. Simply enter the subject for which you need help in and your zip code. You will then be able to choose the tutor you want from the list of Acadam tutors. Click on the tutor’s name to get more information and contact him directly.
Just press the button "SEND MESSAGE" located on the tutor’s profile.. When you send a message to a tutor, you can choose to make this message accessible to other tutors or not. You will receive an email when the tutor will answer you.
When you send a message to a tutor, it automatically creates a Tutor Request on Acadam. To view your request, make sur you are logged in. Click on the Tutor Requests tab and access the My Requests page. Click on your request and you’ll see if the tutor answered you.

Click on the button “STOP” if you no longer want your request to be accessible by tutors.
If, after several attempts, a tutor doesn’t get back to you, you should consider finding a different tutor. It may be that the tutor is no longer available to new students.
You still have options; some tutors offer online tutoring using our online platform, the virtual classroom. Using the Virtual Classroom, you can get help in the subject of your choice, right from your home!

The cost per hour of tutoring depends on the tutor you choose. This price is set by the tutor and is available on their profile. Before you hire a tutor, it is very important to agree on the price to avoid any billing issues. The price usually depends on the experience of the tutor, the duration of the sessions and the location.
No, it is strictly forbidden to pay tutors directly. All monetary transactions must go through Acadam’s system
Acadam asks you to submit a valid payment information on file before tutoring sessions begins. This ensures tutors that they will get paid after each lesson. All tutoring fees will be charged to you by the tutor via Acadam’s system. You can add a credit card to your account, in which case we will charge your card 48 hours after the tutor has sent you the invoice. If you pay by check, we must receive it before the tutoring begins.
The easiest way is to pay is by adding your credit card to your Acadam account. Don’t worry, our website is 100% secure. After a tutoring session, your tutor will send you an invoice which will be automatically debited from your credit card. If you do not want to pay by credit card, you can always send a check or money order to the following address:

No, you do not have to pay anything prior to the first lesson. However, you must have submitted your payment information before exchanging phone numbers with tutors. The lessons are always charged by the tutors after they take place.
If your tutor agrees, yes this is possible. However, be advised that any time a professional travels in order to provide a service, there are usually fees. A good alternative to an in person interview is a phone interview. In this case, you aren’t asking the tutor to travel on their own expense, and you can still get a good idea of the kind of person you will be working with.
You can leave a review directly to the tutor’s profile. Just locate the section “REVIEWS” at the bottom of his profile. There is also a quick link to leave a review in the My tutors page.
Before you can exchange phone numbers with tutors, you must submit your payment information to Acadam. This will allow tutors to charge you for the sessions you have. Once your payment information is added to your file, all censored information will be available.
